Palos Verdes Street Fair  Photos
The CORBA PV booth at the street fair was a great success. We spoke to a lot of people in the community and the response was very positive.

Here are some comments by Deb Powers:
I really enjoyed working the booth! It was great connecting with people who are interested in the open space in PV. The booth looked excellent, and the aerial view really drew everyone's attention. That was the catalyst for conversation!

On Sunday, from 9:30- 2:00, Kevin and I positioned ourselves in the middle of the booth so people felt comfortable approaching the photo and the posters, and then would ask them if they were familiar with the area, or if they hiked or biked on the trails. I liked to explain the work that the PVPLC and RPV were doing to preserve open space in PV, and then focus in on the Forrestal Management Plan and Monday night's meeting. We had some great conversations with folks. From there Kevin and I would explain what CORBA-PV was all about, try to get bikers to sign the email list, hand out applicable info, recruit kids (future mountain bikers) and their parents to sign up for the raffle, etc.

There is definitely interest in making ride info more available, and I'd be interested in leading some entry level or women's rides. Maybe even starting with the GTE trail to assess people's ability before getting on steeper terrain. I'd also be interested in volunteering for the Educational Bike Unit, and would like to assist with developing the statement that is currently being drafted. Photos

Vote on trail usage
The Forrestal Nature Preserve Steering Committee had a preliminary vote on recommended trail usage Wednesday Morning. This is not the final vote. These are only preliminary recommendations that have to be finalized by the committee in a few weeks and then approved by the RPV city council. The struggle is not over.
